  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 limes, juiced and zested
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage (green or red, or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 12 corn or flour tortillas
  • Optional toppings: avocado slices, hot sauce, pickled onions

Instructions

  1. Pat the fish fillets dry and season with a spice rub made from chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the fish for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  3. For the lime crema, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice and zest, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine shredded cabbage, carrots, red onion with lime juice, olive oil, sugar, salt, and pepper for the slaw.
  5. Warm tortillas briefly before assembling by placing slaw in each tortilla followed by fish and drizzling with lime crema.
