  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chopped stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground beef, garlic, and onion for about 10 minutes until the beef is browned. Drain any excess liquid.
  2. Stir in chopped stewed tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and let the chili simmer for one hour while stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the rinsed pinto beans and salt to the mixture. Stir well and continue cooking for an additional 15 minutes before serving hot.
