  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 45 fresh cherries (pitted and halved)
  • 12 tsp vanilla syrup
  • Optional: 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, simmer the pitted cherries with about 2 tablespoons of water on low heat for 3-5 minutes until softened. Gently mash the cherries to release their juices.
  2. Boil 1 cup of water and steep the Earl Grey tea bag or loose leaf tea for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag or strain out the leaves.
  3. Combine the warm milk with the cherry mixture in the saucepan and heat gently while stirring. Add an optional cinnamon stick for flavor.
  4. Stir in vanilla syrup to sweeten according to taste.
  5. Pour the brewed Earl Grey tea into a mug, then strain the cherry and milk mixture over it, pressing on the cherries to extract all their juice.
  6. Serve hot or allow to cool slightly before pouring over ice for an iced version.
