  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ½ lb. macaroni
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • ½ cup half and half
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ cup yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ketchup
  • ½ beef bouillon cube
  • ¾ teaspoon EACH: Dried oregano, basil, parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook seasoned ground beef until browned.
  2. Boil macaroni in salted water until al dente.
  3. Prepare the sauce by melting butter in the same skillet and mixing in garlic, flour, and tomato paste.
  4. Gradually combine beef broth, tomato sauce, half and half, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ketchup, and seasonings.
  5. Let the sauce simmer while stirring in shredded cheese until melted.
  6. Combine cooked macaroni and ground beef into the sauce until well mixed.
  7. Serve hot, optionally topped with additional cheese.
